1064nm fiber lasers mark metals and most engineering plastics. 10.6µm CO2 lasers excel on organic materials (wood, leather, acrylic). 355nm UV lasers handle heat-sensitive materials (PCBs, glass, medical polymers) without thermal damage. Choose wavelength based on your primary material type.
Standard field sizes (110×110mm to 300×300mm) suit most part marking. Larger fields reduce resolution due to optical limitations — if you need both large area and fine detail, consider a galvo+XY stage combination for stitched large-area marking.
